We’ve just added two new state of the art operating rooms and the surgeons on staff at Saint Francis continue to expand the procedures available across many specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology, and bariatric and reconstructive surgery.

Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery – A number of surgeons who practice at Saint Francis Medical Center use minimally invasive techniques when appropriate for their patients. This can often reduce scarring, pain and recovery time for many procedures.

Bariatric Surgery – Saint Francis offers bariatric surgery options for weight loss. Minimally invasive gastric bypass, (Roux-en-Y) and gastric banding are available .

Breast Cancer Surgery – Experts in cancer care, expanded services are now available for patients with breast cancer. The surgeons at Saint Francis perform a range of procedures including breast reconstruction, mastectomy and lumpectomy.

Colon Cancer – Colon cancer is the second most deadly form of cancer in the United States.  However, advancements in screening methods allow physicians to detect and remove even tiny, precancerous polyps, often preventing disease. Saint Francis offers traditional, minimally invasive and non-surgical treatment of diseases of the colon, rectum, anus and small bowel. We also offer colonoscopy screening for colon cancer.

Over 150,000 cases of colon cancer are diagnosed each year, with more than 50,000 annual deaths. But if discovered early, there is a 95 percent survival rate for colon cancer. Colonoscopy screenings are encouraged for anyone age 50 and older or for anyone with a family history of colon cancer.

Cosmetic Surgery -- Surgeons on staff at Saint Francis Medical Center now breast augmentation, breast reduction, tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) and arm lift (brachioplasty) procedures.

Ear Nose and Throat --  Ear Nose and Throat specialists perform a variety of procedures including removal of tonsils and adenoids, ear tubes for persistent ear pain or infections, endoscopic nasal and sinus surgery as well as balloon sinuplasty.  They also offer surgical treatment for most types of head and neck cancer and thyroid surgery.

Gastro Enterology
General surgeons on staff at Saint Francis perform numerous procedures for conditions affecting the digestive system, including surgical treatment for acid reflux, gallstones and inflammatory bowel disease.  Our surgeons are skilled in minimally invasive techniques and many colon procedures can be performed laproscopically. Patients may benefit from reduced pain and recovery time, and can also experience a faster recovery and normal diet and colon function.

General Surgery – General surgery experts lead the field by performing gallbladder removal, hernia repair, gastrointestinal surgery and breast surgery by traditional and state-of-the art laparoscopic techniques. Esophageal ablation for Barrett’s Esophagus is performed, offering early treatment for pre-cancerous cells.

Gynecological Surgery – Gynecological surgeries, including the treatment for ovarian, uterine & cervical cancer are performed at Saint Francis as well as laparoscopic and traditional hysterectomy and treatments for incontinence and endometriosis.

Neurosurgery – Surgical treatment for brain and neck tumors, pituitary tumors, carotid and vertebral artery disease is now available at Saint Francis Medical Center as well as interventions for brain trauma and hemorrhage or stroke.

Orthopedic Surgery -  Orthopedic surgeons perform total joint replacement of the hip or knee. They also perform shoulder arthroscopy, spine procedures, hip fracture repair, specialized hand treatment, carpal tunnel surgery,  and foot and ankle procedures.

Spine Care - The Neurosurgeons at Saint Francis Medical Center offer advanced treatments for spinal conditions. Pain management physicians and interventional radiologists can also perform treatments for painful spine disorders.

Urologic Surgery – The surgeons on staff at Saint Francis offer effective methods to treat prostate, bladder and pelvic disorders, as well as lithotripsy (kidney stone removal) and surgical removal of the kidney or bladder for tumor.

Vascular --Surgeons perform carotid artery repair, placement of vascular access catheters and av fistula formation for dialysis access.
